This plane is 17" long and 2 3/8" wide. The iron is 1 7/8" wide and it is signed Moulson Brothers. Unfortunately, the plane is not signed. It is extremely heavy, being made of Lignum Vitae. The view from above shows the feather pattern in the grain which is typical of this wood. Lignum Vitae is also prone to chipping and there are a few chips on the front of this plane [see photos.] The tote is beech and it has a small chip on the top.A rare and beautiful plane.
