Antique 1700's Colored Etching Venice Antonio Canaletto I acquired this item at an estate auction. Italian etching dating from early to mid 1700's. A view of Venice. Engraving is attributed to Antonio Canaletto. Extraordinary fine detail such as a man on the church steps is smoking a pipe, another man holding his hat in one hand and a child's hand in the other, one boat passenger is carrying a lit torch and t is a dog to be seen on the pier. This colored engraving is in very good condition. No foxing or tears. Plate mark is evident. Actual image measures 9.25" x 12.5".
