You are bidding on a large and beautiful Seth Thomas clock movement, the patent of which is dated December 28, 1875, and this piece is from the estate of my father who was a master watchmaker. He probably intended to tinker with it, but alas did not, and I've just enjoyed it as a sculptural piece of great beauty. Hopefully, a clockmaker out t can bring it back to life in the proper case. Engraved on the front is S. Thomas, Thomaston, Connecticutt, and t is also the number 5 7/8, the patent date mentioned, and below that, a small 1/2. T are no more markings on the back. This is a wondrous mechanism of gears and springs, and the small round dial on the front, if you cannot see it, has the twelve Roman numerals of a timepiece on it. The piece is a little over 6 inches tall and wide, and just under 2 inches deep. Please ask any questions you may have before bidding on this item which comes from a smoke free environment, and I accept cashier's and personal checks, money orders and Paypal. Please look for my other auctions of timepieces including an Atmos Clock and lots of watch parts, and in the meantime thanks for looking and happy bidding!
