This 5" faceplate comes off a steam pressure gauge, typically on a locomotive. It is labeled "The Ashcraft Mfg Co, New York" with a patent number 310280A, placing it from 1886. A fine brass faceplate with clear lettering and numbering, it does show some staining and pitting, mainly around the edges. This faceplate is an ideal collectable for a railroad buff, and a nice piece of history to mount and display in the model rail yard. Thanks for looking.
