Thank you for visiting. This auction is for a ANTIQUE 84 STERLING SILVER 1894 YAD TORAH POINTER RARE UNIQUE ITEM . Please see pictures for more details, this item is 100mm LONG ITEM!! (3.8" LONG!!) Beautifully decorated and with impressive finishes. Condition of this yad is very good, no bents or scratches. It's hard to find similar items because not many of them survived until now - this yad cames from a private collection! You can't miss this unique item, stard bidding at $0.01 - GOOD LUCK!! A yad (Hebrew: יד), literally, "hand," is a Jewish ritual pointer, used to point to the text during the Torah reading from the parchment Torah scrolls. It is intended to prevent anyone from touching the parchment, which is considered sacred. Although permissible, the yad should not touch the parchment, as not to scrach it. While not required when chanting from the Torah, it is used frequently.
