Antique 18th C American Wrought Iron Loom Light Hanging Candleholder 1700's AAFA Description: A Great 18th Century Wrought Iron Single Candle Loom Light Nice example of a Colonial Era hanging pendant candleholder dating 1770-1800. Similar examples to this form can be seen in numerous reference books on the subject of period illumination and interior country furnishings. As you can see the blacksmith who made this piece created the form by creating a folded cicrcular socket shape, meeting a central shaft finished with a twist decoration and end hanging hook. Note the rounded candle socket even has the addition of a little 'curl' on the end of it. Take a moment to Some slight pitting associative of age, though overall near excellent condition. Measures approximately 15" in length. A great piece certain to compliment any Colonial Period decorum or Ironware collection. Up for a five day auction with no reserve and a low starting bid.
