An 18th C., Wrought Iron Standing or Hanging Candleholder This is a fine early lighting piece from an 18th C. Private, Pennsylvania Collection. It was designed to hold two candles for increased illumination. The forward candle socket operates with a spring action, photo #4. The triangular-shaped drip pan is supported with three small legs that turn up at the ends, photo #7. The large rear hook was use for hanging the candleholder. A small snuff hook is located on the inner part of the candleholder, photo #5. I do not believe the candle snuff does not date to the period of the candleholder. The candleholder is in excellent condition. Early lighting pieces add so much to the Country Home. It is 9 1/2" overall x 6" square triangular base. Payment due within 24 hours after listing ends.
