Gorgeous antique 19th century 11" tall pedestal footed compote weighing nearly 5 lbs. Compote bowl measures 8" in diameter and glass is a substantial 1/2" thick. The fabulous scalloped bowl is deeply cut in an intricate Harvard pattern interspersed with 3 large etched and cut daisies and very deeply cut daisy petals. Long elegant faceted pedestal is zipper cut with a deep rounded notch cut pattern traveling the pedestal's entire length. This great compote has tested positive for American Brilliant Period with a black w it iridized a pale lime green. This is the test for glass made in the american Brilliant Period of 1880 to 1910. Glass is completely clear with no residue, discoloration or cloudiness. I could find no chips, cracks, fleabites, hairlines or wear. I can't see any evidence of repairs. Only wear was some table wear on the bottom of the compote's base as you would expect. This wonderful antique compote is as close to MINT as anything of this age can be. I couldn't find a manufacture's mark. Auction must be paid for within 10 days. International buyers must pay with Paypal or email for other options. INSURANCE REQUIRED.
