Antique Advertising Match Holder Vesta Safe TANSILLS PUNCH RW Tansill Gold Plate: This is a very nice hard to find piece of cigar advertising, late 1800s Tansill's Punch 5 Cent Cigar R. W. Tansill Co. Chicago gold plated match safe or vesta. I know it is plated, I can see spots where the plate is worn with a jewelers loop, The plating is very soft with a wonderful gold color. Acid tested 10k or less gold over nickle. There were some small spots of verdigris where the plate was worn but they cleaned off easily. This has a spring action lid that opens when you press the button on the side, in good working order. Strike plate is on the bottom. Both sides are stamped with the advertising message. From a single family owned estate. Measures 2 3/4" long.
