Up for auction is an Antique Apothecary Pharmaceutical Henry Troemer Merchant's Scale circa 1900 that was recovered from an old Mom and Pop New Orleans drugstore that closed in the 1950's and which has been in storage since. This interesting scale has a wooden oak base and a heavy marble top. It measures 19.5 inches long, 9.25 inches wide and 5.25 inches high. The pans are metal (probably nickel plated copper because a magnet doesn't attract them) and measure 8 inches in diameter. The marble top has a few small chips along the outer edge and there is a small spot of red paint on the front. The mechanism moves freely but the needle doesn't balance quite at "0", so the scale may need some adjustment. It has just enough wear and patina to give it character. If this scale could talk, what wonderful stories it could tell. It would make a great gift for yourself or for the collector of antique pharmaceutical memorabilia. No International Shipping. Ships by UPS Ground Shipping with delivery usually within 5 days.
