THE CURRENT OWNER IS READY TO SELL! HIGHEST OFFER IS GOING TO OWN THESE SPURS You are viewing a very rare pair of antique "Gal Leg" spurs. The owners and I researched the pair on the internet and found the mark to be that of maker August Buermann who had a fascinating history. He was one of the earliest (1868) and most innovative spurmakers. He manufactured 443 different spur designs with the 'AB' mark and according to the internet research the star mark was the earliest of his markings. August Buermann was the spur maker for the cavalry in 1903. T are no dates on the set which would have been made in the late 19th or early 20th century. T are several unique qualities to this set which appears to have been done in the Mexican style. Each spur is marked "PATENT" with the stamped star underneath on one side and "Hand Forged Steel" on the other side. The details and markings of the gal leg is incredible down to the saloon girl cotton stockings that are etched into the steel. T are 10 point rowels in the Chihuahua style (which is what gave away the mexican style design.) The strap pins are brass and even THOSE have ornate etchings on them. (I'm not actually sure if etching is the right word but the designs are cut right into the steel and copper.)
