Found at a recent high end estate sale is this old Banko earthenware teapot. It depicts a quail with cranes and floral decorations and stands 5 inches in height. This teapot is very similar to the one shown in the last picture which came from the book "Imari Satsuma and other Japanese Export Ceramics", by Nancy N. Schiffer published 2000. My pics do not do this piece justice! The flowers and the cranes are glazed. T is a Banko mark on the bottom but it is worn and my cheap camera could not pick it up very well. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. T are no chips or cracks on this stunning piece but t may be some elements of dust to clean off.
