Being offered is a very fine old antique most probably 19th century Bugis or Sulawesi Keris kris sword. This fine Keris measures 16 1/2” in total length when measured in its scabbard. There are several very attractive features to this Keris. First, the wood has a fantastic deep rich patina to it. The handle is wood with a fine glossy reddish brown color and the scabbard has finely grained wood selected and also with fine rich patina. The scabbard is missing its buntut or very bottom piece. The second great quality of this Keris is the very fine mendak. It appears to be silver, of good quality silver as seen by the color and patina developed, with detailed workmanship throughout. Nice thick, blade with visible pamor. There is some pitting and oxidation on both sides of the blade. It would benefit greatly from a good cleaning. A wonderful old Keris. Please e-mail with any questions. for a great variety of swords, daggers and tribal art.
