Here is a Antique California Chemehuevi American Indian basket made before 1907. This basket was part of the Francis X Ammann collection .He acquired thousands of baskets in the early 1900’s by trading bread for baskets made by the Chemehuevi tribe in the eastern Southern California Area.This basket was one of many he loaned to the Los Angeles County museum from 1928-1934 .When I acquired this basket it came with a note describing what kind and origin of the basket and in the back Bennet Indian shop in Palm Springs Ca. The size of the basket is 7 X 2. It is in mint excellent condition . Museum quality piece .
