AntiqueCase w/ Scissors & Silver Thimble German * Circa 1900 This small leather case is shaped exactly to hold its sewing scissors and thimble. It opens at each end so you can get directly to the tool you need. The thimble is solid silver (tests 800+ pure) and has an elegant classical garland design on the band. It is between an American size 7 and 8 and is in mint condition with no holes or other damage. The top has the 8 pointed star used by Gabler Bros. and some other German manufacturers and the interior is gilded. The little scissors are steel with faceted bows and they measure 3 3/8" long. They have tight blades and intact points and cut but need sharpening. They are stamped "Solingen". The case is 4 7/8" long and the leather is supple with no tears or cracking. Both ends snap together well.
