DESCRIPTION Up for bid we have an ANTIQUE CAST IRON BOOK PRESS BINDER. The base of this 50 pound plus antique measures 10 1/2" X 15 1/2" and stands about 13 1/2 inches high fully extended. The screw wheel turns to allow a press clearance of about 2 1/4". The cast iron wheel on top measures 9 inches across. The base has four cast holes for fastening it to a bench. A brand name is stamped on the top plate but difficult to read. It looks like L. T. Lau.... & Co. Boston. I have no idea of how old it is. Perhaps someone out t know more about it. The worm style wheel turns very easily and the frame has a somewhat decorated paint job that is hidden under a layer of dirt. Because it weighs so much we can make arrangements to ship it the most economical way. Shipping will paid by the buyer and will be determined at the end of the auction.
