From a nice estate clock collection, I'm offering this large antique clock case that I believe is called "Lady Liberty". I've heard these type of clock cases referred to as "doorstop" clock frames, or cases. This interesting clock case depicts a lady holding an American flag at the top. Near the center of the clock is a lyre and roses. Flanking the clock hole is a sailing ship on the right and a railroad locomotive engine on the left. The clock case appears to be made of copper over cast iron on the front. A magnet is strongly attracted to this clock case. Height is 11 5/8"; width is 10 1/2"; depth is ". The hole for a clock movement is 2 3/4" across. Condition is Excellent for an item of its type and age. T are a couple of "nicks" on the bottom edge at the center front, and a couple of small areas w the copper has flaked/rubbed off, but overall, this is very nice. I don't see any markings on this piece. Shipping will be determined at the end of the auction and is dependent on how far you live from NC. Shipment will be within 2-3 business days after receipt for money orders or PAYPAL, while checks will generally require a 5-7 business day wait. Thanks for looking.
