Antique Cast Iron Prison Ball & Chain With Leg Shackle 1882! I am not sure on date of this Ball & Chain but 1882 was the Patent Date for the Tower Leg Irons Patent #268,496 Dec. 5, 1882! I bought this at the Dec. 2010 Gun Show and the Old Guy didn't have any History on it! Sure wish they could talk! Maybe The James gang or Billy the Kid or Black Bart! Ball weight about 35 pounds and chain is 54 inches long! That sure would make it hard to run or to escape! Shackle lock was rusted shut but with some super Gun Oil and a key I had made for the Tower Shackle we were able to get lock open but we are having trouble getting lock to work correctly! There is to much rust or a broken spring inside! We can get shackle to open and get it to double lock but you have to use the key to lock shackle! The display stand goes with shackle if you want! I will ship by US Mail Priority in a large Priority Box which cost $17.95 with Insurance in the US! To ship out of US will have to check on best shipping & price! I also have Ball & Chain advertised in the local paper and Gun Shops if Unit sell will have to pull! Leg iron is locate in the Heart of Gold Country in Placerville California any question or more picture call or email me at or ) Thanks for L@@king Bill
