Antique Chinese Export Canton Carved Ox Bone Box.Decorative example depicting scholars, willow trees, men on a bridge, men on a boat and men in pagodas. Beautifully carved in high relief with under piercing, this would have taken immense skill and patience. Exquisite Antique Chinese Hand Carved Ox Bone Box.The whole piece skilfully hand carved (even the base) with great attention to every detail. Carved in Canton and dating from circa 1880.The lid unscrews to enable items to be stored inside.The antique condition overall is very good, I have highlighted any defects in the photographs. In the 3rd photograph you can see a very slight minimal loss to the pierced fretwork probably where the carver has gone through.In the 6th photograph you will see that there is a slight drying separation to the lid. In the 8th, 9th and 10th photographs you will see that there are 3 small chips to the base. 2 of these chips have an old repair (see photographs 9 and 10).
