Chinese Peking Glass Mandarin Hat Finial This blue hat finial was worn as an indication of rank by a Chinese official. I purchased this fine curiosity from the estate of James Whitford of Wassaic, New York. In excellent condition, this bronze and Peking glass finial unscrews into four separate pieces: a threaded shaft with a disc bottom that would seat inside the crown of the hat itself, the gilt bronze, dragon decorated threaded cap that secures it, the large blue Peking glass bead, and the fuku decorated brass bolt that secures the glass by actually threading down through the interior of that first threaded base shaft...quite a work of engineering. HEIGHT 2 3/4 inches ( 7 cm ) I sell most of my items on eBay with a reasonable reserve, often at my cost, and always less than what I would expect the item to sell for. Very careful packaging is part of my shipping cost to anywhere in the continental USA or elsewhere. If you desire to have your purchased insured, I am happy to do so if you request it, but that would be at your cost. International buyers should contact me for shipping costs before final payment is made.. Please feel free to email me if you need additional information or images. Please
