LOT 91This antique Chinese hediao nut mounted with a tassel measures about 1" in length (tassel measures about 2" inches). It was purchased in China in 1930 by Civil War Captain Leo Rassieur's daughter, Estelle Rassieur Kelsey. Very fine details of several male figures are carved throughout the nut. It is so detailed that you can see the facial expressions and hairlines of the men. Estelle Rassieur Kelsey took a cruise around the world in 1930 and purchased the nut in China. The cruise was called "The World Cruise". The nut has been in the family home for the last 86 years.
