Up for bids we offer this very old, primitive, wooden mortar up for bids without reserve! It dates to 19th Century and is in very good condition. We found it in an old barn along with other early items, where they had been hidden away for generations. This piece was hand hewn and carved from a log and it shows plenty of age and wear. The patina is old and beautiful, it's untouched and unspoiled. It has rich, warm tones, carving marks and gorgeous graining. The wood has old worm holes from all the years it spent in the barn but they are inactive; this piece is not infested. Some areas are blackened and there are other color variations from past uses. There are no cracks or splits in this piece. It's a solid, rugged mortar that has no problems with dry rot either. Standing 11 1/4 inches tall, it has a base that measures about 5 1/4 inches across at its widest point while the top is about 5 3/4 inches across. It's primitive style and rustic design make it very charming. This early piece is a quality item that would display well in a country kitchen or among other rustic, wooden items. We guarantee this mortar to be old and authentic. Don't miss it! Froo | Froo Cross Sell, Free Cross Sell, Cross promote, eBay Marketing, eBay listing Apps, eBay Apps, eBay Application
