NO RESERVE........................................................................................This auction is for a spectacular matched Pair of 2 old Gesso Trimmed Wood , Oval Top , Frames. I have had a lot of old Frames over the years , and these 2 Frames , are about the nicest I have ever come across . It's rare to find a matched pair like these , especially in such nice condition . They are all original , with just normal age lines in the Gesso Trim , and only a couple of very tiny touch ups , to the gold paint . Each of these Frames have an old Engraved Print in them , with a cut mat around it . Both Engravings are " Cries of London " , one is plate no. 6 , and the other , plate no. 7 . I had no interest in the prints , and purchased these , just for the wonderful Frames . I think each of the Frames , should have a great old Atkinson Fox , or a Maxfield Parrish Print ,which would look wonderful . Each Frame measures approx. 18 1/2 in. , by about 12 1/2 in. , and are tight , beautiful , with no repairs , or damage , beyond very minor age wear. Most the wear would be on the sides of the Frames , and easily touched up . The Glass area is approx. 15 1/2 in. , by about 9 1/2 in. . I would say that the mat around each Print has darkened with age , but t is no damage or stains, to either . I can't praise this pair enough , they are really a super old Pair of Frames . They just need the perfect prints , or portraits in them , to compliment the full beauty of each . Sorry my photos are a bit dark , and have some glare , but it's the best I could do at the time .
