ANTIQUE ENGLISH 9K GOLD AGATE SEAL FOB W/ SNAKE c1800 A super quality antique Georgian English, solid 9 carat gold (tests tabouts) fob with deeply chased & engraved decoration, coiled 3d snake frame and set with a polished pale coffee coloured chalcedony agate seal, engraved with the initial 'R' in reverse. Lovely - high quality, extremely collectable - and perfect for any chain or charm bracelet! This fob tests as solid gold, although t is possibly a metal liner in the lower bezel - these were often made like this for strength and durability. CONDITION : All original and very good. Some signs of wear, no damage. DEFECTS : None. DATE/MARKS : Around 1780/1800, not marked. DIMENSIONS : 22 mm tall, base 17 x 14 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm).
