Antique English Oak Revolving Bookcase Arts & Crafts This listing is for a beautiful antique English oak revolving bookcase. It is SOLID oak, no veneers, with wonderful quarter sawn or "tiger" oak grain throughout. The craftsmanship is evident in the details, which include dentil crown molding around the top edges and double grooved detail on all the side slats. It functions just as it was designed, with the bookcase freely turning (revolving) around on the base. The base piece is four solid oak legs with a brass plate and steel bearings (for years of turning!) with a steel rod that fits into a collar in the bottom of the bookcase, allowing the bookcase to easily turn. The bookcase measurements: 31 5/8" H x 24 ½" x 24 ½". As you can see in the photos, each side has two shelves, for a total of eight shelves, each being 14" x 6 ¼", with 12 ½" height between upper and lower shelves. The bookshelf has a beautiful dark golden oak finish and it is in very good condition for its age, with less than normal signs of age and use, scratches, dings, and other imperfections.
