This is a truly old scroll or pillow book in very fragile condition, which would have been given to a couple on thier wedding night. Very rare, but has a bad tear at the left side and log tear which runs along the top of the first two pics along the top of the images; it should be resored as it has historic value. My camera is old and does not capture the true and detailed expressions and scenery. Very clear pictures of women with bound feet in shoes and also in sleeping slippers for bound feet. If you buy it PLEASE be extremely careful unrolling this because this is extremely fragile along the tear; I scotch taped the back a little bit in parts after taking this picture to ensure it wont get damaged further until you get it. This has been in a personal collection for very many years, and had been salvaged from a "burn" pile during the cultural revolution and was either in a museum or detined for a museum; I didnt understand the whole story. I would not be at all surprised if this is pre-1700, but I dont know for sure although I can most surely say it is at bare minimum from the mid 1800`s.....very possibly alot older than that. I have dealt with museum antiquities for many years but am not an expert on scrolls and dont know what kind of paint was used, etc but I can say that to me this looks much older than anything I have ever
