This perfume atomizer is a gorgeous piece of cut glass.
I had this piece appraised by GArnone of Cleopatra's Boudoir, her initial thought was vaseline glass, however I tested it with a blacklight and it does not fluoresce so we agree that it is likely flashed green glass. I was finally able to see the logo on the inside rim clearly and it reads T and M with a representation of the mushroom atomizer in the center of the letters. The bottle weighs 15.5 ounces. She mentions the condition issues in her appraisal listed below. Antique Etched Flashed / Vaseline Glass Travel Perfume Atomizer Approximate age: 1910-1920 Bottle Type: decorative Origin: France or Bohemia Description: Transparent Etched Vaseline glass perfume flacon, etched Iris pattern along sides. Thick, heavy cut crystal bottle. Mounting is silver plated brass and is chased with rococo scrolling and floral patterns. This type of mounting is known as a piston pump atomizer and was used for travel as the mechanism is leak proof. To open, depress the middle and turn a quarter turn clockwise, to close reverse the motion. This style originally appeared around 1900 and was popular up until the 1940s. They were common place in France and the French hardware companies would import the bottles from Czechoslovakia and mount them with their own hardware. Box Measurements: 5 ½" tall. Markings: Mount has TM and an illegible symbol. Condition: metal siphon may have had previous repairs done. Mount is missing its screw on stopper cover with the tiny chain. Her specialties were porcelain and glass. This item must be shipped with insurance. It will be double boxed and packed with peanuts and bubble wrap. All packaging is purchased new, I do not make money on the shipping and handling (please check my feedback for comments on the packing). Unless I have misstated this item in the auction description, I will not accept returns. These items are all authentic to the best of my knowledge. You should also keep in mind that t will be wear commensurate with the age of the piece.
