Antique Firkin 19th Century Sugar Bucket Measures 9" Dia X 10" Tall A good 19th century antique firkin or sugar bucket. The body of this firkin is constructed entirely of wood staves. The staves are secured with two wooden single fingered bands, one at the top and one at the base. These bands are secured with copper tacks. The bentwood handle is secured with two wooden pins with button tops. The handle also pivots on these pins to allow for carrying and removal of the lid. The fingered band around the lid is made in the same manner as the ones on the body. . Honest well kept condition. The band on the lid is split and additional copper tacks were added to help keep it secure.The bands on the body are very tight and secure.
