ANTIQUE French CARVED IVORY color Altar CRUCIFIX CROSS Relic Jesus Catholic VirginThis delicate, miniature, hand carved IVORY (colored) crucifix measures 5 1/2” high and 3 1/2” wide. It dates from circa 1820-1850 and was carved in France. It rests on an ebony pedaled with finely carved finials on each terminus of the cross. The 3 piece corpus measures 1 1/2” and sports a finely detailed face and body.It is from the estate of a beloved French Archbishop who had an extensive relic and religious art and antiques.Please see my other auctions from more Catholic antiques and collectibles.
