GORGEOUS Antique French Fashion Doll Style Silk Wrapper Dress. This is a gorgeous expertly made silk wrapper morning dress for a French Fashion, China or Papier-Mache Doll. Suitable for a 16-17" doll depending on body configuration. It is made of a pale blue silk that is trimmed with antique French cotton lace and silk ribbon. It has pagoda type sleeves with piping at the shoulders and lace at the bottom edge and there is lace around the entire piece from neckline to hem. It has hand done featherstitching in a pale blue around the bottom hem edge and around the bottom edge of the sleeves. There are white silk ribbon bows at the neckline, waist and sleeves( top & bottom). It is completely lined with white cotton and all seams are overcast in the correct fashion. It is tagged Doll Fashions by Jerre Martello, who obviously knew how to make a correctly fashioned antique style garment - it is just beautiful. It was photographed on a 16 1/2" china doll. It measures 3 1/4" across the shoulders at the back with the neckline measuring 5 3/4" around. The sleeves are 3 3/4" from shoulder to hem at the longest part of the pagoda sleeve, the sleeve opening is 3 1/2" around the shoulder piping and it is about 12" from neck to hem in the front and about 15" from center back of the neck to train shaped hem.
