F rench A rt D eco S ilver & G lass C laret J ug/ Pitcher <> ~~~~ <> ~~~~ <> This elegant French claret jug, made of blown glass is housed in a detachable, hand made, silver Serpentine collar/harness, which snakes around the base of the neck, forms the handle. down to the base where another collar clips around it holding it in place with a cross over clip catch. <> I cannot be categorical about hallmarks but there appears to be some marks on one of the ball clips albeit indistinguishable. However it's been tested for silver and the quality of the workmanship is clear. It's really a delightful and delicately made piece and in superb condition.
