Pricing & History
Lot features an antique ca. 1900 French depose Bronze jewelry casket / box signed T. Hingre. Jewelry casket features bronze relief scenes on the top, front and back. The side panels have a somewhat Neoclassical / Art Nouveau scroll design. Piece is signed T. Hingre on the back panel. Panels depict scenes from French folk tales and Greek mythology. Top scene depicts the tale of "The Wolf in Shepherd's Clothing" by Jean de La Fontaine (1621 - 1695) while the back panel shows a scene from Don Quixote. Piece is in good condition with some surface wear. The interior is wood-lined but is incomplete. The key to this piece has been broken off in the lock. Casket measures approx.
