The photos are part of the description. Antique French mantle clock approx. 1880/1900 In this auction you have the opportunity to bid on a lovely French mantel clock. The case is made of spelter and richly decorated with floral ornaments, it is in good condition in line with the age. The original, enamel dial does have some cracks. On a clock which is older than 100 years, these flaws are truly minor and neither lower the value nor interfere with its charisma . This clock is a true feast for the eyes thanks to the perfect and detailed representation of a scenery expressing absolute beauty. The clockwork chimes the half and the full hours softly on a bell and is in good working order. The works have been cleaned and oiled recently. These clocks have survived wars, moves etc. and were then often stored in attics or forgotten in basements. This can, quite naturally, lead to the clocks showing normal traces of wear and tear, wormholes, small color differences in the wood or even damages in the veneer. I have the clockwork cleaned and clean and polish the case myself. I am, however, not a professional restorer. If you wish to buy a clock which looks new and unused, please do not place a bid.
