Antique George III Style Yew Wood Leather Pedestal Desk (4ft x 2ft) This is an attractive and good quality antique George III style yew wood leather pedestal desk. The desk features a three panel green and gold leather tooled insert on the top, rectangular pedestals, dove tailed drawer construction, swan neck handles, decorated external panels terminating in Georgian style bracket feet. The desk features a working key to the top central drawers. The desk can either stand in the centre of a room or against a wall. The pedestals, frame and drawer bottoms and sides are constructed of engineered timber with a fantastic yew wood veneer patination. The desk dismantles into three sections (top and two pedestals) for easy transportation. This desk would compliment any home office. This item base would certainly grace any home. Condition Report: In good condition which is commensurate with age. The leather is in very good condition and does not have any damage. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the wooden desk but nothing significant considering the age of the item. Please note that the colour variation in the wood is unique to Yew Wood natural patination to the timber grain and is not a defect . Yew wood is actually a sought after wood. There are some small marks and stickers inside the drawers but nothing significant. The desk has a working key which operates the central top drawer only. The drawers below do not feature locks.
