There is no reserve on this wonderful Globe jar. Here we have a pale aqua Globe 1/2 gallon fruit jar in wonderful condition. The glass is in great condition, even the raised lettering is free of wear. We really can't claim any great expertise in this area so we must let your more expert eyes and the photographs tell the complete story of this piece. We found this jar at a country auction. This came from the estate of a collector who passed away in 1990--his collection was just released. This jar was labeled "Globe" and has the number "34" on the bottom. It also has a patent date of May 25th, 1886 in relief on the lid, which we feel is a true mate to the jar. The closure is classic simplicity. A metal half globe fits into a like depression on the lid when closed. When the hook piece is raised, the globe comes away to the flat section and the lid is freed. The metal part of the closure is lightly rusted but still robust. There are some nice random bubbles in the glass, making a great look overall. This handsome jar measures 11" to the top of the bale and is 4 1/2" in diameter at the bottom. We believe the capacity is 1/2 gallon. We will ship according to the shipping calculator.
