ANTIQUE HIGH RELIEF SHELL CAMEO PIN BACCHANTE c1880 WOW A fantastic antique natural shell cameo; beautifully hand carved in unusually high relief from a strongly convex shell, to depict a very pretty bacchante, on a gilt metal / rolled gold mount with solid rose gold (will be around 9 carat) claws, for wear as a pin. A very high quality, eyecatching, beautiful and unusual cameo! CONDITION : All original and very good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use, no loss or damage. Wants a light clean perhaps. DEFECTS : None. DATE/MARKS : Around 1870/80. Not marked. DIMENSIONS : 45 x 34 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm).
