The badge was my Grandfather's and he worked at the Bath Iron Works in Maine in 1908. On the front of the badge it states; "IN UNION THERE IS STRENGTH, UNITED WE STAND". On the back is written; "Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark N.J. Pat. App'd". The badge is in good condition for 106 years old. On the front lower portion ther is minor corrosion. It measures : The medallion- 2 1/2"x 2 1/4" The Bar : L- 2 5/8"x 3/4" Total vertical length (hanging) : approx 4" wt. 7.2 oz. If you should have any questions, I will happy to answer them.
