You're bidding on a spectacular, ornate one-of-a-kind chair. The chair is carved wood. The front legs are a magnificent male lion. Wings spread behind him toward the back. An ornate eagle crowns the center of the piece surrounded by a laurel. The style is either Rococo or Baroque. If anyone views this auction and is an expert, I'd appreciate an opinion.Purchased eight years ago at Antiquaria Le Mura in Tuscany. The piece dates from the early 1800s. It is a painted finish in ivory with pale blue accents. The paint is definitely chipped in places due to age.The chair measures 34" high by 31" wide at front and 20" front to back.I've lowered the reserve from $2000 down to $1250. Please bid now!
