We just received a new shipment from JAPAN ,these amber netsukes we have never seen before,not in books or shows,they must be old and hiding all these years or coming out of some one's collection/This one is 1 1/8 by 1 1/4 inches,artist signed on the bottom,condition great., made of reconstituted amber.,has 0 holes,it is a gorilla not a monkey,it is in a classic poise,facing front and with its arms supporting its body.There is an insect on its back.I wonder why are there gorilla/ape netsukes,monkey yes,as monkeys are abundant in Asia and represent good luck,fortune but African gorilla apes????We haev several apes and some monkeys as well.
