Up for your consideration is an antique / vintage Japanese Fukusa. Fukusas are textiles used for gift wrapping during tea ceremonies. This 23 1/4" x 26" fukusa features an Amako Clan ( Descendants of Emperor Uda ) crest done in a gilt / gold forbidden stitch on one side. The other side has embroidered mandarin ducks amongst cherry blossoms / flowers and other traditional Japanese designs. It is in excellent condition with only 2 tassels on opposite corners.
