Antique Japanese Silk Meiji Uchikake Wedding Kimono w/ Gold CouchingFor your consideration is this incredible Japanese uchikake from the Meiji Period (1868 - 1912). Fabric, pattern, thread, paint, and color represented the rank, age, gender, and refinement of the wearer of the kimono. Mons, or family crests, decorated the garments, which identified the family background. This particular uchikake is indigo blue with a patterned pink lining and has three paulownia crests across the back. Plum blossoms created with gold couching decorate both front and back of this amazing piece. This is a perfect display of Japanese craftsmanship! Hung on a wall or displayed on a stand, this uchikake will definitely turn heads!
