This is a Japanese sword in honzukuri mountings. This Gunto is guessed use in Kamikaze corps or the tank corps. The blade is signed "Soshu Jyu Hiromitsu 相州住広光 ", shinogi-zukuri shape, early Muromachi period ca. 1339 era made Hiromasa school blade.I am guessed three generation Hiromasa. The blade is in old full polish, shows tiny scratches on surface. The temper line is Gunome with choji temper pattern and maru temper at the point. The forging grain is tight itame-hada and no forging flaws at all. The scabbard is urushi lacquered wood scabbard, shows no dent, no crack and in excellent condition. The handle wrap is old wrapping, tight fit with gold inlay copper fuchi and kashira with matched gold inlay copper bird menukis. The tsuba is signed "Kunihiro 国広 ” Shikakugata shape iron tsuba . It measures 57.5cm" tip to the guard, 45.6cm" cutting edge, 2.95cm" width, 7.5mm thickness at the notch and 65cm" in mountings. Shipping is $65 priority in woldwide.
