This sweet little waif with such a sad expression is a felt Lenci doll, 17" tall. She has no tag, but a few years ago I saw this same dressed model with a tag, so I know she's really a Lenci, not a "Lenci type" doll. I think she's from the 1930's-1940's, maybe even as old as the 1920's. There are many good books on Lenci's, you may be able to date her more specifically if you have one. She's in wonderful condition! Her face is especially good, with no paint loss or dirty or pushed in spots. She wears a little green and white gingham dress with a felt overcoat, socks, undies and shoes. Her coat has slight fading and a few small moth bites, see pics. Her matching "tam" or beret hat is in about the same condition. She has a light brown mohair wig in braids. She has a small spot of felt loss on the back of her neck, see last pic. She has an interesting toy in her hands, 2 wooden sticks and a wrapped ring, maybe some kind of game? She's jointed at the hips and shoulders. Head doesn't turn. Overall she's a very fine Lenci, and would make a lovely addition to your collection.
