This is the first of two auctions I will have from the same Estate. Both auctions are for lots of really really old, Antique embroidery floss thread and both have original Antique glass top storage cases which were probably old store cases (I am dating these cases from the early 1900's). It appears that the little old lady used these cases to store her floss in as t is a wide variety of makers in both cases. THIS auction is for a total of at least 115 skeins of floss, the case is marked "Silkine" Art Thread Mercerized Cotton, t are a few Silkine skeins in the case. This lot includes, Peri-Lusta Indelible Embroidery Cotton, Made in England, J & P Coats, Bird Embroidery Floss, RMC, Silkine, American Beauty and t may be a couple of other makers and each maker has from around 8 to up to 16 yards in each skein. This lot is for a wide variety of colors including purples, light blues, pale yellows and soft pinks and some greens. The only thing which I see is that t may be a little color fading in a couple of the skeins from this laying out in the light. The glass top of the case is in excellent condition, the heavy cardboard case itself is in kind of rough condition but still holds the floss....this truelly is OLD and a fantastic FIND with a wide variety of floss for sooo many projects.
