This late 19th century lamina from Oaxaca, Mexico, has a particularly graceful silhouette. The engraving of the Holy Trinity, sandwiched between the glass and the tin backing, is a lovely one, but my favorite detail is the mass of colored paper flowers pressed under the glass. They give the piece a collage effect that is utterly charming. The antique glass front is wavey, greenish, and full of bubbles. Original hanging loop intact on the back. This frame is not made to open. Dimensions are 15" high, 10 1/2" wide (with 'ears'.) Winning US bidder please add $11 for careful packing and insured shipping. Winning international bidder, please email seller for cost of shipping to your address. I have just returned from Mexico and will be listing new treasures soon; please check my other listings! Thanks for looking.
