Antique 19th century Minton Parian Figure of “The Dancing Girl” after Canova circa 1849. Known as the “Dancer with hands on Hips.” Delightful Minton Parian Figure after Canova standing 14.5 inches high on a circular base 5 inches across. Shape number 195 in the Minton Shape book. The figure is finely modeled. Condition is very good but not without flaws as photos show: an unfortunate chip right across Canova's name on the base. Priced accordingly. A great evocative Victorian figurine with no damage to the figure itself, just to the base, and displays great at this size. The bottom of the base is very well marked including the 195 Minton shape number and other marks as shown in the last photo. Please see my other auctions for more sculptures, including more Parian figures and some excellent but enigmatic Italian monkey sculptures. Shipping by priority mail. Delighted to combine shipping whenever possible. Thanks for your bid!!!
