Lovely pieceof antique Indian silver that tests Sterling, but is not marked anywhere, many pieces of this time period were not marked. Made in the Mughal style with animals running over low hills. There are palm trees, dwellings and different kinds of foliage. Probably dates from late 19 th to very early 20 th century. Unlike many that have a block-y or staid appearance using the same motifs, this piece has a very nice flow to the design. The creator was an artist whoever he was. The rim is pierced, the edges are made to look like crossed bamboo sticks. Center cartouche is not monogrammed, nor is there any removal of a monogram. It is 10 ¼-inches at its widest by 7 ½-inches, and weighs 295g. The tray sits on four, ½ dome feet. Condition is excellent with roughly 5 tiny impressions in the very center plaque, and very minor bending of the bamboo extensions beyond the rim of the piece. You can see all of this in the photos. .
