AUCTION ITEM This auction is for a fine old antique nautical brass telescope. It consists of three pieces: 1.) Brass telescope with aluminum endpieces, aluminum and brass fittings. There are no identification markings of any kind on the scope - I don't know what magnification the lens provides, nor do I know the manufacturer. It is just over 31 inches long, fully extended, and weighs 2 lbs 13 ozs. Outside diameter of the main tube is 1.5". 2.) A heavy aluminum and brass fork mount that weighs 1 lb. 7 ozs. 3.) A heavy wood and brass tripod which is probably the most interesting part of the telescope. It has a Cast brass head with 2 rack and pinion angle adjustments and a liquid bubble level. Individual part numbers are cast or stamped into most of the metal pieces but there is no manufacturer data. It weighs 11-1/2 lbs and full leg extension is 6' 1". CONDITION All of the adjustments and locking mechanism work properly. There is some plating wear at the top end of the leg extensions and a few small spots of surface corrosion further down the legs. Light wear on scope barrel. Other than this I find no notable flaws. In very nice condition for its age. I would Grade it in GOOD PLUS condition overall. There is no reserve on this auction. Bidding starts at $9.99. SHIPPING & HANDLING I ship within one business day of payment confirmation. read more
