Antique Nepal AGED MYSTIC TRIBAL SHAMANIC RITUAL PHURBU ANTIQUE, AUTHENTIC AND USED SUPERB AGED RITUALLY USED TRIBAL SHAMANIC RITUAL PHURBU PHURBA WITH TIGER from North or Central Nepal, Mountain Area. These Phurbus or Phurbas have been used by the tribal village Shamans and buddhist village Lamas of the Mountain Area in Nepal during their certain tantric rites and pre buddhist bon religion performances. They protected the personal owner against negative forces and demons during his trance and trip to the upper- or underworld. This great AGED SHAMANIC RITUAL IMPLEMENT consists of reddish brown hard wood and depicts a wonderful mystic ritual carving related to local shamanism and tantrism. The top of the handle depicts three carved oval deity faces with great expression, topped by a stylized tiger or snow lion figure with tail. The middle part depicts a symbolic buddhist vajra design with stylized endless knot pattern and ribbed design. The three sided blade with shamanic symbols like interlocked snakes. SMOOTH WORN DARK PATINA DUE TO RITUAL USE !!! Condition: great aged condition, smooth dark glossy age patina, good signs of age and use . Age: early 20th century. Size: Length of the phurbu 21.5 cm.
