You are bidding on a beautiful antique picture frame. Although Im not an expert on frames, I have a frame similar to this one with my grandmothers picture in it, and it was made before the 40's. From viewing other frames on the web, this looks to be a gilt gesso frame. The frame is oval and very ornate and has an oval shaped glass in it. The glass protrudes out like a bubble and has no cracks or scratches. The frame measures 19" x 25", the frame opening measures 13" wide x 19" long. Very detailed and great gold color. T are two tiny cracks on the left side, one about an inch and a half in the upper corner, and one about an inch in the lower corner. On the right side , lower corner t is a small crack about an inch long. This does not hurt the looks of this frame in any way, or affect its sturdiness. The frame is made of wood, Im not sure what type. It came from an estate sale from a family who had it for many years. Good Luck Bidding!!
